For parents and those searching for all the things:
Rise of the Ash Kingdom is an upper YA fantasy novel. While the publishing industry has set the age range for this genre to 12-18, many readers outside of that range enjoy and heavily relate to the themes found within the YA genre. Briar is a twenty-two-year-old young adult, navigating many of those same themes.
While everyone rates things on a different scale, the author considers this series to be a low-steam romantasy, with any suggestive scenes being fade-to-black.
Mature language is considered minimal and appropriately used with purpose and as each character would see fit to use it.
